About the Micosay Dancers

The Micosay Dancers, established in 1979, are dedicated to advancing the objectives and principles of Scouting America, particularly through the summer camping program organized by the Heart of America Council at the H. Roe Bartle Scout Reservation, utilizing the art of dance.

The Micosay Dancers are authorized to participate in all ceremonies at the H. Roe Bartle Scout Reservation and are also invited to perform at various Scouting and civic events throughout the year. The Micosay Dancers offer interpretive dance performances for both Scouting and civic organizations across the Kansas City Area.

The Heart of America Council Micosay Dancers engage in the study of traditional Native American dance, under the careful guidance of Native Americans to ensure the respectful and honorable observance of Native customs and traditions.

Membership in the Micosay Dancers is accessible to any Tribe of Micosay member who is a registered Scouting America member and possesses a keen interest in learning to dance and perform. It is encouraged for all members to continue their involvement with their respective Scout Troop or Post alongside their commitments to the dance group.
